One of the services that we provide at Precision Measurement and Design is to reverse engineer parts and create solid models for re-manufacturing purposes. The photos below represent one of our recent reverse engineering projects. In this project, we received multiple tooling blocks of progressive dies and we scanned them in order to collect the point cloud. With having the point cloud ready, we were able to connect points and create surface meshing. Finally, we created the solid model for each block using closed surfaces.
